Respiratory Management – Review of concepts
This program is suitable for RNs and ENs working in all areas of the healthcare environment. The topics covered provide a broad overview approach to assessing and caring for patients with respiratory dysfunction, and may be undertaken as an introduction to Respiratory Management - advanced care
All theoretical sessions are supported by the provision of relevant equipment and best practice guidelines, which enable participants to interact in a supportive, learning environment. Demonstration and engagement with the practical skills, such as chest auscultation, is undertaken through the use of simulation manikins and audio-visual training aids
respiratory anatomy and physiology – participants play an interactive game to explain the intrinsic and extrinsic causes of respiratory dysfunction
oxygen therapy delivery and airway humidification
chest x-ray interpretation.
