Elder Abuse ('the silent epidemic') is a serious public health issue worldwide. It happens in private homes, hospitals and in nursing homes, and is seldom reported.
Health professionals and others working in these contexts receive little, if any, education on the topic.
This session will empower carers not only to understand the latest facts, but how to recognise elder abuse, how best to respond, and how it may be prevented.
Discussion will be promoted through 'real life' case studies.
This session is suitable for Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Personal Care Workers.
