Responding to abuse
This module has been developed by Gatehouse at the RCH. It aims to aims to cover some of the key factors associated with responding to child abuse.
Please note - This module should only be completed subsequent to completing the module ‘Understanding and Identifying Abuse’ as the present module assumes a degree of knowledge regarding different types of abuse and possible behavioural indicators of abuse.
At the completion of this module, participants will be able to:
Demonstrate knowledge and application of appropriate skills in responding to child abuse.
Explain strategies that can be used to discuss difficult conversations with parents and children.
Identify effective self-care strategies to utilise when working with abuse
