Promoting mental health in maternal and child health and midwifery practice: addressing individual needs and applying mental health principles
Stress and anxiety can affect one in five pregnant Australian women. A range of mental health issues can have significant impact for women, not only during pregnancy but also as future mothers.
This workshop will explore the common mental health issues pregnant woman and mothers may experience, including pre and post-natal depression and psychosis. Effective and timely psychosocial assessments of pregnant woman and mothers are crucial skills for all midwives and maternal and child health nurses to optimise the health of mother and child.
This course is suitable for midwives and maternal and child health nurses.
Please note: This course is currently scheduled to be delivered face to face at ANMF Victorian Branch, 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Face to face delivery is subject to change dependent on the COVID-safe conditions and restrictions in place on the course delivery date.
