Mental health in pregnancy and motherhood – a course for midwives and maternal and child health nurses
Stress and anxiety can affect one in five pregnant Australian women and this can lead to significant mental health issues for them as future mothers. This workshop will explore the common mental health issues pregnant women and mothers may experience, including pre and post-natal depression and psychosis. Effective and timely psychosocial assessments of pregnant women and mothers are crucial skills for all midwives and maternal and child health nurses to optimise the health of mother and child.
