Adult ALS 2 day Instructor program
Australian College of Critical Care Nurses recommends this course for health care professionals working in a critical care environment who have previously attended an ALS course and wish to become an ALS instructor. This program incorporates BLS and ALS training and assessment, including ALS Recertification and teaching resuscitation education. Attendance at both days is compulsory to become an instructor. A significant amount of time is spent developing and practising instructor skills through practical stations and assessments. This external credentialling gives hospitals the confidence that instructors are equipped with the knowledge and skills to co-ordinate internal ALS courses based on evidence-based teaching principles and the recommendations of the Australian Resuscitation Council. A total of 16 hours CPD hours are assigned to this program (based on 12 hours program contact and 4 hours self-directed learning. Please note that the pre-test and the adult PDF ALS interactive program manual are emailed approximately 1 month prior to course commencement.
