Paediatric ALS 2 day Certification program
This practical and theoretical program provides healthcare professionals training in paediatric basic and advanced life support in a clinical setting. The program content runs over two days with certification for both BLS and ALS on the second day. Based on the latest Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and incorporates theoretical lectures, clinical skill stations and scenarios. Registration includes both program manual and e-learning material
priorities of care
paediatric basic life support algorithm adnd principles
advanced airway management including laryngeal mask airway insertion
ECG interpretation of life threatening rhythyms and defibrillation
pharmocology including intrasseous cannualtion
post resuscitation care
legal and ethical issues
The program is most suitable for those with little or no experience or knowledge of paediatric ALS or those wanting a comprehensive update. It is also suitable for experienced adult ALS trained healthcare professionals requiring paediatric ALS certification.
A total of 16 CPD hours is assigned to this program (based on 12 contact hours and 4 hours self-directed learning). Attendees can test their knowledge by completing the electronic pre-test pritio to the day.
The pre-test and the paediatic PDR ALS interactive program manual are emailed approcimately one month prior to course commencement
