Providing end of life care to older people requires skill and understanding. This seminar supports skill development for nurses. The emphasis of a palliative approach will be on the slow decline experienced by many older people with chronic illnesses. The final phase of life will also be addressed, with information on pain and symptom management drawn from the latest research. A holistic approach will include ethical issues and psycho-social, emotional and spiritual components of care, as well as physical.
This course is suitable for registered nurses and enrolled nurses.
