Advanced clinical assessment and management of the critically unwell person (ACAMCU)



This course builds on the RRCD course and is designed to extend the knowledge of nurses and midwives working in acute clinical settings (high dependency unit, emergency department, urgent care centre, recovery room, intensive care unit, etc). It includes advanced clinical assessment skills, clinical reasoning, decision making, time management, prioritisation of care and problem-solving activities including ISBAR and examining key communication challenges.
Prerequisite: Students of this course MUST complete Recognising & Responding to Clinical Deterioration before course commencement.
This course is suitable for registered nurses, enrolled nurses and midwives.
Please note: This course is currently scheduled to be delivered face to face at ANMF Victorian Branch, 535 Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Face to face delivery is subject to change dependent on the COVID-safe conditions and restrictions in place on the course delivery date.
